India's one of the deadliest route is not so deadly anymore!

Atal Tunnel connects Rohtang pass to the Leh border. This tunnel will be inaugurated by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the end of September 2020. It was named after our former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. This 8.8 km tunnel will be the world’s longest tunnel at an elevation above 3000m (10,000 ft.). The construction of the tunnel began over a decade ago and finally is ready to welcome everyone. This tunnel would reduce the distance between Manali and Leh by 46 km. Also, it would take only 10-15 min to cross Rohtang Pass by the tunnel where it used to take five hours.

As we all know Rohtang pass is closed due to heavy rainfall in winter and is open for road traffic only four months a year, this tunnel will be a boon for all of us as it will be open all year long. This tunnel is not only a benefit to us to save time but also an advantage to increase the connectivity of the army troops deployed in Ladakh. It will be useful to get more weapons and logistics in a shorter time.

Vehicles can travel up to a maximum speed of 80 km per hour and it can accommodate up to 3000 cars and 1500 trucks. It also has many security measures that are being taken care of. It provides a telephone every 150 meters, fire hydrants every 60 meters and there are also emergency gates every 500 meters. There is also a turning cavern every 2.2 km and ai quality is being monitored every one km. CCTV cameras are placed at every 250 meters with a broadcasting system and automatic incident detection system.

Now we can say that,

India's one of the deadliest route is not so deadly anymore!
